Even new construction has HVAC issues — our builder used the cheapest Goodman system and it leaked refrigerant eight months after closing. The builder’s warranty company wanted us to wait two weeks. DFW Air Cost came next day, found the solder joint leak, $275 repair. Their diagnostic fee was waived since we did the repair. Submitted the receipt and the builder reimbursed us — their itemized invoice made it easy. Once the builder warranty runs out (usually 1-2 years), DFW Air Cost’s own 10-year labor warranty kicks in as your safety net. That’s 5x longer than what most HVAC companies offer on labor. Our Star Trail home had spray foam walls but blown fiberglass in the attic — a weird combo that left it 140 degrees up there in July. Varsity Zone’s thermal imaging showed the heat radiating straight through. Radiant barrier plus insulation upgrade, and the upstairs is finally comfortable without cranking the AC to 68. Their audit report gave us documentation to go back to the builder with. And their 10-year labor warranty means if anything related to the insulation or attic work needs attention down the road, it’s covered — unlike most contractors who disappear after year one.
